Snowbowl 15K : Montana Snowbowl, Missoula

The Snowbowl 15K is a loop trail race held at Montana Snowbowl with start and finish at the base area next to the lodge. The course is 9.3 miles (15K) and features a steady climb of 4.65 miles on a mixture of dirt and double track roads up to the top of Grizzly Chair, where the only aid station is located. The return is a 4.65 mile descent on a popular single track known as Beargrass Highway that leads back to the base area. Total elevation gain and loss are 2,150 feet.

Race services include a well-marked course, chip timing, a custom race bib with the runner name, a Snowbowl 15K t-shirt, a post-race lunch catered by Snowbowl, and a finish-line beverage choice of Big Sky Brewing beer or sparkling water. The route offers views of the Missoula Valley and the Rattlesnake mountains.

Registration is tiered by date: early registration is $50, mid registration is $55, and late registration is $65. No refunds, deferrals, or transfers are permitted. The event is capped at 250 participants. Packet pick up is available the day before at Runner’s Edge and on race day at the Snowbowl base area. Awards and post-race lunch take place on race day. A Missoula trail weekend on June 7 with a 13.1-mile mountain half and a 6.2-mile 10K, cupless aid stations, capped fields, and virtual options running May 14 to June 23.

Trail races at Marshall Mountain in Missoula in May include team and solo 25K formats plus a 5 mile option. Courses use new looped trails and include notable climbing, with a post-race brunch and vendor village.

A community trail run on Mount Dean Stone paired with hands on bumble bee field training for the Montana Bumble Bee Atlas. Equipment is provided and youth must attend with an accompanying adult.

Mountain to Meadow on June 14, 2026 offers a Half Marathon and 10K from Lolo Pass Visitor's Center through meadows and forests with mountain views. The event includes aid stations, chip timing, a post race BBQ and awards.
