ZooTown Challenge Obstacle Course Race
The ZooTown Challenge is a set of obstacle course races held at Washington-Grizzly Stadium in Missoula, Montana on September 26, 2026. The event features multiple categories that vary by distance, obstacle count, and course layout. The course area can include the stadium, the University of Montana campus, and sections of the M Trail, though some race categories note the M Trail is not included.
Race categories and distances include:
- Griz Double 10k: 10K, about 35 obstacles.
- ZooTown 5k: 5K, 20 obstacles.
- ZooTown 3k: approximately 3K, obstacles and M Trail may be excluded.
- Kids Race: youth course inside the stadium, designed by Mismo Gymnastics.
- All Abilities: adapted course for athletes with physical or intellectual limitations; entrants may be paired with a buddy.
- Teams: team competition with combined times for four racers.
Spectators are welcome and food trucks will operate in the North End Zone. A women’s flag football scrimmage is scheduled after the races for registered participants or VRTX members. Event net proceeds are donated to Opportunity Resources Inc., a Missoula organization that supports people with disabilities through employment, housing, and community programs.
