Bingley Rock up n' Run

This is a pop-up summer series running event in Bingley that follows canal-side paths and passes the Bingley Five Rise Locks and the Leeds & Liverpool Canal. It is organised by Its Grim Up North Running and takes place at 5 Rise Locks, Beck Lane, BD16 4DS.

Entry is available on the evening with no requirement to book online, and the event operates on a cash only basis. The event offers distance options to suit different training goals, including shorter midweek races and longer training runs.

Distances offered:

  • 5K
  • 10K

Every participant receives a Grim jumble medal and a choice of beer or soft drink, plus sweets and snacks at the finish. The event is presented for a mix of runners, including those training for longer races, people aiming for a midweek 5K or 10K, and those seeking a social evening run with other runners and running clubs.

The course includes canal-side sections and views of local Yorkshire scenery. The setting highlights a prominent West Yorkshire landmark, the Bingley Five Rise Locks, and emphasises a community atmosphere rather than competitive elite racing.
