Event Overview
The Big Foot Trail Run takes place in Cincinnati at the Mt. Airy Forest Playground. As the largest park in Cincinnati, the venue covers nearly 1,500 acres and provides an extensive trail system for the event. This competition is part of the Alpine Trail Race Series Season 3 (ATRS 3.0), which operates annually from March to October.
Course Information
The event offers four distinct distances on off-road terrain. The Half-Marathon and 30K courses utilize multiple loops of a 10K route. Participants have a total course time limit of 5 hours to complete their chosen distance.
- 5K: A single loop trail race.
- 10K: A single loop trail race.
- Half-Marathon: Two loops of the 10K route.
- 30K: Three loops of the 10K route, recognized as an ITRA/UTMB index race.
Participation and Awards
Registration is open to both runners and walkers. Participants under the age of 18 are eligible for a 15% discount. All finishers receive a themed medal, while those completing the Half-Marathon or 30K distances receive a finisher T-shirt. For the shorter distances, T-shirts are available for separate purchase.
The race features a thematic element where costumes are encouraged, and awards are presented for the best costumes. As a qualifying race for the ATR Series, participants earn points based on their finishing position. These points contribute to a season-long standing, with awards for top performers in various age categories. BIB pickup is conducted on-site prior to the start of the race.
Regulations
The event follows a strict no-dog policy on the course. Entry fees are non-refundable. In the event a runner cannot attend, registration can be transferred to another race within the series. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
