The BEAST Adventure Race
The Beast Of The East Fork is an adventure and mud run located east of Cincinnati within East Fork State Park. The event features a course designed for solo athletes and families, utilizing the natural terrain and existing trails of the state park to minimize impact on the habitat.
The event offers two primary course options:
- The BEAST: A course approximately 5 km (3.1 miles) in distance featuring over 15 obstacles.
- Little Beast: A dedicated course option designed for younger participants.
The main 5 km route incorporates more than 15 natural and man-made obstacles. Participants can expect a variety of physical tests, including a tire climb suspended between trees, mud crawls, and tube crawls. Balance-based challenges include a tightrope, a spider web made of paracord, balance beams, and a broken bridge over water. Strength-based tasks involve wall climbs with minimal footholds, tire flips, and a heavy carry segment which has previously included sandbags or cinderblocks.
The terrain varies throughout the race, featuring a tire run, a rope-assisted hill climb, and cargo nets suspended between trees. The final stretch of the course includes a 70-yard run through deep sand on the beach leading toward the finish line. The event also features an after-party, raffle prizes, and a photo booth for participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
