Beast Of The East Fork : course overview
Beast Of The East Fork is a mud and obstacle adventure held in East Fork State Park, just east of Cincinnati. The main course is planned to be a typical 5K distance; participants can expect approximately 3.1 miles as the organizers finalize the route. The event uses primarily existing park trails to limit impact on the natural habitat, and the official distance will be confirmed closer to race day.
The course features more than 15 natural and man-made obstacles. Obstacles from previous years include a Tire Climb suspended between trees, Mud Crawl and Tube Crawl sections, a Tight Rope and Spider Web made from parachord, Wall Climbs with few footholds, Balance Beam elements, Hi/Low obstacles to go over and under, heavy carries such as Sandbag Carry, Tire Flip and Tire Run sequences, a rope-assisted Hill Climb, Cargo Nets, a Broken Bridge that tests balance, and a final Beach Run across about seventy yards of six inch deep sand leading toward the finish area. Obstacles may be updated or reimagined year to year. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
