Beamsley Beacon

The Beamsley Beacon race on 18 June 2026 is an out-and-back course that begins at St Peters Church Hall in Addingham and reaches Beamsley Beacon before returning the same way. The distance is 5.5 miles with about 1100 ft of climb. The event is for over 16s only and entry is £5. There is a limited amount of parking on the grass next to the church hall.

The route starts with a lap of the field and continues along Church Street into Bark Lane, then across the river by the suspension bridge. Runners follow a track to West Hall Lane, cross a stile and go across fields, then climb through woods beside a beck to Chapel House Farm. The path passes through the farmyard, turns up to Hardings Lane, follows a short section to Paul Lane and on to Spring Well Farm. After more fields the course reaches open moor and a track that skirts the bottom of the Beacon, with a final climb to the large pile of stones that marks the Beacon. The descent may follow the same flagged outward route or another permitted footpath; if runners choose an alternate descent they are advised to recce the course beforehand.
