Event overview

The Beachside Dash and Family Fun Run is an annual community running event at Depena Reserve, Dolls Point. It raises funds and awareness for the St George and Sutherland Medical Research Foundation (SSMRF). The 2025 event attracted 1,004 participants and raised over $100,000 for medical research. The event was in its 18th year and took place on Sunday 14 September 2025.

A virtual dash option is available for participants who run or walk elsewhere. The timed races incorporate a School Cup Challenge, and an inaugural Corporate Cup Challenge was held as a 2 km corporate race. Cash and other prizes were awarded to placegetters, and every participant received a medal. For the first time, a dedicated Recovery Area was provided after the finish line. The event also included family entertainment, coffee, a barbecue and a community playground, with the course set against the backdrop of Botany Bay.
