Sydney Trail Half Marathon - Winter Edition
The Winter Edition of the Sydney Trail Half Marathon takes place on Saturday, 4 July 2026 and Sunday, 5 July 2026 at Lake Parramatta Reserve in Sydney. The event is a single-lap trail race covering 21 KM with total elevation gain and loss of +386 m / -386 m.
The course runs through a mix of waterfront trails, technical single-track sections and fire trails. Runners will pass lakeside viewpoints, a waterfall and stands of eucalypt canopy. Access to Hunts Creek Reserve and the waterfall requires multiple road crossings where marshals will assist with safe passage. The event enforces a strict four hour cutoff for the half marathon.
Organisers require each athlete to carry mandatory safety gear at all times: a fully charged mobile phone with a live SIM, a compression bandage and water carrying capacity of at least 500 ml. The race is cupless; participants must bring their own cup or bottle for aid stations.
Aid support includes provisions at the 9.5 km and 14.5 km marks and an additional station at the finish, offering hydration options and energy foods. Event services include bib collection during race week and on race morning, a dedicated bag drop gazebo, on-course marking and free race photos. The field is limited to 450 runners per day. Post-race items include a finisher medal and a bucket hat, with a post-race BBQ and cafe available near the finish and a nearby swimming area.
