The Georges River Festival Of The Feet

The Georges River Festival Of The Feet is a community running festival held at Lake Gillawarna within Mirambeena Regional Park in Georges Hall, near Bankstown. The event on Sunday 12 July 2026 offers multiple distances that follow pathways around the lakes and along the Georges River.

Distances offered include:

  • 3 km
  • 7 km
  • 14 km
  • 21.1 km

Courses are mainly on paved pathways with some short grass sections, and routes pass wetlands, lakes and riverbank scenery. Road shoes are appropriate for the courses. Drink stations are located at several points along the longer courses. The event attracts more than 600 entrants and includes individual, team and family entries.

Awards and finish items: all finishers receive a medal; trophies are presented for first, second and third males and females in each event, and a trophy is awarded to the first team in the 7 km race. Team entries for the 7 km allow up to six members with the fastest four counted.

Age and participation notes: the half marathon requires entrants to be 16 years or older and to complete the distance within three hours to have marshal support and a recorded result. Children under five must be accompanied by an adult in the 3 km. Prams may be used in the 3 km only; dogs are not permitted on course but may remain on leash in the start precinct.

Entry fees are to be announced and entries open in March. The event is volunteer organised and does not offer refunds, though transfer options are available before the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
