The route is Category BM under FRA classification, run on woodland and pasture paths and trails with minimal road running. The course leaves Baslow through fields toward Hassop, follows a ridge path through Bank Wood and Bramley Wood, drops to the River Derwent and the Calver/Curbar area, then climbs to Baslow Edge along limestone trail and gritstone before descending Bar Road back into Baslow. The route offers views across both the Dark and White Peak.

Entry is by online registration only, with places capped at 400, an entry fee of £13, a minimum age of 18, and no on-the-day entries or refunds. The event is run in winter conditions and participants enter and run at their own risk. All proceeds support Baslow St Anne’s Primary School PTFA, the church buildings restoration fund, and a national charity to be confirmed.
