The Baslow Bolt
The Baslow Bolt is a Peak District fell race held on 28th November 2026. The course is a FRA licensed Category BM race over mixed terrain, with a distance of 13.2 km and approximately 400 m of elevation gain. The route runs through woodland and pasture on paths and trails with only minimal road running and is described as well marked and marshalled.
The course climbs from Baslow through fields toward Hassop, follows a ridge path through Bank Wood and Bramley Wood, drops to the River Derwent and the Calver/Curbar area, then ascends to Baslow Edge across limestone trail and gritstone before descending into Baslow to the finish. The race is run under FRA rules, and participants should be prepared to carry the FRA mandatory minimum kit.
Entry is by online registration only, with the total number of participants capped at 400. The entry fee is £13, there are no on the day entries, and there are no refunds. Minimum entry age is 18. Registration and number collection take place at St Anne's C of E Primary School DE45 1RZ; the race start is at St Anne's Church, 1 Church Street, Baslow, DE45 1RY, and the finish is at Baslow St Anne’s Primary School, School Lane, Baslow, DE45 1RZ.
