The course covers 13.2 km of mixed terrain through woodland and pasture with approximately 400 m of elevation gain. The route uses paths and trails with minimal road running and passes through Hassop, Bank Wood, Bramley Wood, the River Derwent, Calver/Curbar and Baslow Edge before returning to the village.

The race is a Category BM event under FRA rules and is licensed and insured via UKA. Routes are well marked and marshalled. Organisers require competitors to comply with the FRA mandatory minimum kit for fell events. Entry is online only, capped at 400 runners; the entry fee is £13. There are no on-the-day entries and no refunds. Minimum age to enter is 18.

Race numbers and timing chips are collected at registration, which is located at St Anne’s C of E Primary School, DE45 1RZ. The event is run as a winter fell race and entrants participate at their own risk; organisers accept no responsibility for injury or lost property arising from the event.

All proceeds are allocated to Baslow St Anne’s Primary School PTFA, Baslow St Anne’s Church building restoration fund and a national charity to be decided. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
