Baslow Bolt

The Baslow Bolt is a winter fell race in the Peak District that follows a mixed terrain route of paths and trails through woodland and pasture with minimal road running. The course is 13.2 km long with approximately 400 m of elevation gain and is categorised as FRA BM (medium distance, medium ascent). The route climbs from Baslow towards Hassop, follows ridge paths through Bank Wood and Bramley Wood, drops to the River Derwent and Calver/Curbar, then ascends Baslow Edge on limestone and gritstone before descending back into Baslow.

The event is licensed and run under Fell Running Association rules and requires runners to carry the FRA mandatory minimum kit. Routes are marked and marshalled. Entry is by online registration only, with a cap of 400 participants and an entry fee of £13; there are no on-the-day entries and no refunds. Minimum age is 18.

Registration and race paperwork are handled at St Anne's C of E Primary School, DE45 1RZ, and the race starts at St Anne's Church, DE45 1RY, finishing at the primary school. Proceeds support Baslow St Anne’s Primary School PTFA, Baslow St Anne’s Church buildings restoration fund, and the homeless charity Shelter. The Baslow Bolt is included in the Outside 2025/26 Winter Race Series supported by Rab. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
