Badass Trail Race

Event details

The Balbirnie Badass Trail Race takes place on 15 February 2026 at Balbirnie Park, Markinch, Fife. The course is held on paths and trails through the park woodlands and is between 4 and 5 miles in distance. The route includes mud, water crossings and small undulations. All finishers will receive a bespoke race memento. Prize categories include first three overall male and female, plus first male and female in age groups Over 40, Over 50, Over 60 and Over 70. Spot prizes of craft beer are listed as available.

Logistics and entry

Race headquarters for number pick-up, toilets, bag storage and limited changing is at 252 Memorial Hall, Betson Street, Markinch, KY7 6AA. There is strictly no parking within Balbirnie Park; car parking is available in the car park just south of the hall at the primary school and in surrounding streets. Entry is pre-entry only with an entry fee of £11.00; a service fee of 4% (minimum 50p) applies per sign-up. The event limits total places to 70. Organisers allow free entry transfers up to seven days before the race if details are arranged between runners and a name change is notified. No refunds or deferrals; participants must not run with another person’s bib. The event is permitted by the Association of Running Clubs and held under ARC rules.
