Balbirnie Badass Trail Race

Scheduled for 15 February 2026 at Balbirnie Park, Markinch, Fife, this trail race follows paths and trails through the park woodlands. The course covers approximately 4 to 5 miles and includes mud, water crossings and a few undulations.

The event is described as open to all abilities. All finishers receive a bespoke race memento. Prizes are awarded to the first three overall male and female finishers and to the first male and female in the age categories Over 40, Over 50, Over 60 and Over 70. Spot prizes of Badass Craft Beer will be awarded on site.

Race headquarters are at 252 Memorial Hall, Betson Street, Markinch KY7 6AA. Facilities at the hall include number pick-up, toilets, bag storage and limited changing space. There is strictly no parking inside Balbirnie Park; car parking is available in the car park just south of the hall at the primary school and on surrounding streets.

Entry is by pre entry only. The entry fee is £11.00 and service fees apply. The event has a limit of 100 places. Free race entry transfers are allowed up to seven days before the race; refunds and deferrals are not offered. Routes may be altered for weather or forestry work and cancelled races may be rescheduled. The event is insured and permitted by the Association of Running Clubs and held under ARC rules.
