The event is the third annual Area 51 Trail Race held on the Area 51 mountain bike trail system near Hernando, Mississippi. The race offers the following distances:

The course is 100% single track and winds through hills and trees in North Mississippi. The route includes almost 100 feet of elevation gain per mile and is described as runnable; all distances are approximate and may vary from measured road distances.

Logistics note that packet pickup will be available a day or two before the race and also at the start/finish on race morning. Parking is limited and its availability can depend on weather conditions. Organizers plan a water station on the shorter route and an aid station on the longer route; specific station locations and additional details will be confirmed closer to the event.
