Area 51 Trail Race : Hernando, MS

The Area 51 Trail Race is held on the Area 51 mountain bike trail system in Hernando, Mississippi. The course is 100% single-track that winds through hills and trees in north Mississippi and averages almost 100 feet of elevation gain per mile. Distances are approximate and described as "ish" distances.

The event offers the following distances:

  • 12K
  • 6K

The shorter course shares the same start and finish location as the longer course and uses a shortcut between the south and north Voyager trails. Organizers plan a water station on the shorter course and an aid station on the 12K course; further details were to be provided closer to the event.

Packet pickup is available in the days before the race and at the start/finish area on race morning. Parking is limited; dry weather may reduce parking issues. The race is organized as a not for profit event and all profits will go to the North Mississippi Trail Alliance to support trail building and maintenance.
