Samar 4 and 8 Miler : Wolf River Trails, Memphis
The Samar 4 and 8 Miler is a trail race held on the Wolf River Trails in Memphis, Tennessee. The course uses mostly single track dirt trails that are described as flat, smooth, and highly runnable.
The route is a 4 mile loop. Runners in the 4 mile event complete one loop and runners in the 8 mile event complete two loops.

Race operations and facilities: packet pickup is available the day before the race and on race morning. The Start/Finish area is the Wolf River Refuge Trailhead. Portable restrooms are located in the parking area. There is no site electricity; organizers will run operations from generators. The event is chip timed and runners must wear their bib on the front of the body. The course markings and signage will be placed on the right side and marked with orange ribbon and orange ground flags at key turns.
Aid and supplies: the only aid station will be at the Start/Finish at mile 4 and will primarily serve 8 mile runners. The race is cupless; participants should plan to carry personal hydration if needed. Post race refreshments include water, soft drinks, donuts, cooling towels, watermelon, and trail snacks.
Parking and camping: the trailhead has about 60 paved parking spots and additional grass parking. An RV campground at Agricenter International is within walking distance and offers sewer, water, electrical hook ups, dump station, restrooms, showers, and laundry.
Weather note: the event takes place in summer and Memphis conditions can be hot, humid, and subject to storms. Race leadership may postpone or cancel the event for safety.
