Last Mamba Standing
Last Mamba Standing is a Backyard Ultra event held on private land in Eads, TN on September 26, 2026. The race follows the Backyard Ultra format: runners repeat the same loop each hour until only one runner remains. The loop measures 4.167 miles, and a new start occurs every hour; runners who fail to make the cutoff are removed from the race.
The course uses purpose-built trails on land where few people have run before. The terrain includes rolling hills, flowing singletrack, and natural, wooded trail surfaces. The setting is described as remote and quiet with local wildlife present.
Organizers will provide basic on-course supplies rather than traditional aid stations. Available items include water, Tailwind, and simple trail snacks such as cookies and crackers. Runners are responsible for carrying or supplying any additional nutrition, gear, or equipment they need.
Primitive camping is available on the night before the race, with camping areas near the start line, by the lake, or elsewhere on site. Porta potties and hand-washing stations will be provided. Campers must bring their own food, water, and camping equipment; both tents and 10 by 10 canopy tents are allowed. A communal evening near the barn will include a fire and music.
Awards are not split by sex. One overall champion receives a single custom champion award, all runners who complete at least one lap receive a finisher medal, and each registered runner receives a race shirt. There are no refunds or deferrals for this event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
