Last Mamba Standing
Last Mamba Standing is an official Backyard Ultra event held on private land in Eads, TN on September 26, 2026. The format follows a true last runner standing structure: runners complete a single loop of 4.167 miles, one start every hour, and any runner who misses the cutoff is removed from the race.
The course uses purpose-built trails that have not previously hosted races. Terrain includes rolling hills, flowing singletrack, and natural, undeveloped sections through a quiet, remote setting with local wildlife. The event emphasizes consistent, repeated laps rather than outright speed.
Organizers will offer primitive camping the night before the race, with spaces near the start/finish area and the lake. Porta potties and hand-washing stations will be available. Campers must bring their own food, water, and camping supplies; both personal tents and 10x10 canopy tents are permitted. A communal evening around a fire and barn will provide an informal gathering for participants.
On-course support is minimal. The event will supply water, Tailwind, and basic trail snacks such as cookies and crackers; runners are responsible for any additional nutrition, gear, or supplies they require.
Awards include a single champion award for the final runner, finisher medals for those who complete at least one lap, and a race shirt for every registered runner. The event has a no refunds and no deferrals policy. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
