Last Mamba Standing
Last Mamba Standing is a Backyard Ultra event held on private land in Eads, TN. It is listed on the Backyard Ultra International Calendar and uses the standard last person standing format. The course is a single loop of 4.167 miles that starts again every hour; runners must complete each loop within the cutoff to continue. Missing the cutoff removes a runner from the race.
The trail system for the event was built specifically for this race and is described as rolling hills and flowing singletrack through largely untouched natural terrain. The setting is remote and quiet, and wildlife may be encountered along the course.
Primitive camping is available the night before the race near the start area and by the lake. Organizers will provide porta potties and hand washing stations. Participants are expected to bring their own food, water, and camping supplies; both tents and 10 by 10 canopy tents are permitted. An evening gathering with a fire, music, and informal conversation is planned near the barn on the Friday before the race.
There are no traditional aid stations on course. Organizers will supply water, Tailwind, and basic trail snacks at the Start/Finish area; runners are responsible for any additional nutrition or gear they require.
Awards are not separated by sex. One champion award will be presented to the final runner still moving. All runners who complete at least one lap receive a finisher medal, and all registered participants receive a race shirt. The event has a no refunds and no deferrals policy. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
