Caspian 5 and 10 Miler
The event is a trail running race organized by Mamba Trail Runners at Shelby Farms Park in Cordova, TN. Two distances are offered:
- 5 Miler
- 10 Miler (two loops of the 5-mile course)
Packet pickup is scheduled the day before at Beaver Lake Pavilion inside Shelby Farms Park; the pavilion also serves as the start and finish area. Runners may leave a personal bag at the pavilion. Porta potties will be available at the start, and a nearby restroom with running water is accessible.
The course uses the Tour de Wolf singletrack trail system, featuring flowing dirt trails through forests, open meadows, and lakeside views. The route includes shaded wooded sections, occasional open fields, gentle rolling hills, and a run across the Beaver Lake levee near the finish. Wildlife sightings are common on the trails.
This is a cupless race: each runner must carry a cup, flask, handheld bottle, or hydration vest. Water-only aid stations are placed at specific mile markers: the 5 Miler at about miles 1.5 and 3.5; the 10 Miler at about miles 1.5, 3.5, 5, 6.5, and 8.5. Food and additional refreshments will be available at the 5-mile mark for 10 Miler participants. If trails remain dry, road shoes may be suitable, though trail shoes are recommended. The race is chip timed and bibs must be worn visibly on the front.
Post-race awards recognize Top 3 overall male and female finishers and age group winners for both distances. Photos from the series will be free for participants. There are no refunds or roll-over credits. The Race Director may delay or cancel the event if weather poses a safety risk. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
