King 7-miler and Half Marathon - Memphis, TN
The event offers two trail races on the Wolf River Trails near Memphis. The trails are mostly single track, described as flat and runnable. The route uses the same loop as the Mamba 100; the half marathon loop removes 1.20 miles from that 14.3 mile loop.
Distances:
- 7 miles
- Half marathon (13.1 miles)
Course markings and aid stations are described in detail. All orange ground marking flags will be on the runner's right except at two sections where runners travel in both directions near the Bridge Aid Station and the big Wolf River Bridge. A fully stocked aid station operated by North Mississippi Endurance will be at Mile 3.7; half marathon runners will pass that same station again around Mile 9.5. The event is cup-less, so runners should carry water or use a hydration vest.
Packet pickup is scheduled for Friday, August 14 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the Wolf River Refuge Trailhead, which is also the start and finish location. The course will be marked by noon on that Friday and the trails close at dark that evening. Parking is at the trailhead with overflow parking on the grass at the back of the lot.
All runners will receive a custom-made award medal and series T-shirts will be given to those who have not yet received one. There are no refunds or roll-over credits. Memphis summer weather can be hot and humid and the race director may postpone or cancel the event for safety due to weather. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
