King 7-miler and Half Marathon - Memphis, TN
The event offers two trail distances in Memphis, Tennessee, on the Wolf River Trails system. Distances include:
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
- 7-Miler
The courses use the same singletrack trails as the Mamba 100. Trails are described as mostly flat, smooth, flowing, and runnable. The Half Marathon follows the full Mamba 100 loop with a shortened section removed to achieve the official 13.1 mile distance.
This is a cupless race, so runners need their own handheld bottle, hydration vest, or other means to carry water. Aid stations are fully stocked: the 7-Miler has a staffed aid station around Mile 3.5, and Half Marathon runners pass stocked stations around Mile 3.5 and Mile 8.5. The Start/Finish area will provide food, music, cooling towels, fans, ice-cold water, and a stocked aid station. Race bibs should be worn on the front for course photography. All participants receive a custom finisher medal.
Packet pickup is held at the Wolf River Refuge Trailhead the day before the race; the course will be marked by midday the same day and is available to run after marking until trails close at dark. Parking is at the Wolf River Refuge Trailhead, with overflow on the grass behind the lot.
Top 3 overall male and female finishers and age group winners will be recognized for each distance. There are no refunds or roll-over credits. Memphis summer weather can be hot, humid, and stormy; the race director may postpone or cancel the event for safety. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
