8 Maids a Milking Run

The 8 Maids a Milking Run is one day in a 12-day Christmas race series held at Pengethley Manor, Ross-on-Wye (what3words: physical.growth.shelf). Participants choose a target distance and have seven hours to complete it. The event is open to walkers and runners and requires competence to complete an offroad course.

Distances offered:

  • 5k (two laps)
  • 10k
  • Half Marathon
  • Marathon
  • Ultra

Each lap measures 2.5 km. The route stays within the grounds of Pengethley Manor and includes a hill that is repeated each lap plus a series of ascents and descents through two vineyards. The course is described as offroad and physically demanding.

Entries are priced with separate rates for race and virtual options. Race bibs are collected at registration on the day; virtual entrants receive a personalised virtual bib by email before the event. Virtual runs may be completed anywhere; verified virtual finishers receive the same type of medal as race finishers. A free virtual option records results without a medal, typically via the organiser's Strava group or submitted proof of time.

All entries are non-refundable. Entrants must be aged 18 or over and agree to the organiser's terms and conditions, including safety and responsibility requirements. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
