Event Overview
The 5 Golden Rings Run is a Christmas-themed running event. It is part of a series of 12 festive races, each named after a line from the "Twelve Days of Christmas" carol. The 2026 event date is 10th December.
Course Details
The event is an off-road run held within the grounds of Pengethley Manor in Ross-on-Wye. The course is described as "very tough" and features a hill, as well as a series of ups and downs through two vineyards. Each lap of the course is 2.5 km in length. There is a 7-hour time limit to complete the chosen distance.
Distances and Participation
Participants can choose their target distance from the following options:
- 5 km (2 laps)
- 10 km
- Half Marathon
- Marathon
- Ultra
The event is open to both runners and walkers.
Race and Virtual Options
The event can be run in person or virtually. In-person participants collect their race bib on the day. For the virtual option, runners can complete their chosen distance anywhere in the world at a time that suits them, preferably on the scheduled event day. Virtual participants who pay an entry fee receive a medal by post after their run is verified. There is also an option to run for free by joining the organizer's Strava club; free participants are listed in the results but do not receive a medal.
