Trail Running calendar near Brandon 2026-2027

Two self-navigation trail races in Chelmsford on 23 August 2026: the hilly Admiral McHilly Trail of about 16 miles and the flatter Chelmer Trail of about 6 miles, with written route instructions and no course markings.

A last man standing backyard ultra on a 4.167 mile loop in the grounds of Gosfield School, Essex. Runners repeat the loop on the hour until one remains; the event includes camping, showers, a small aid station and a £150 winner prize.

A six hour looped trail event on an approximate 5.45 km course with mixed terrain and 71 metres of elevation per lap. Runners choose how many laps to complete and an aid station at the start/finish provides real food.

A trail race called Muntjac 15 linking five woodlands with hills, woods and single-track sections on 30 Aug 2026. The event is full with a waiting list and the organiser covers the service fee so entrants pay no surcharge.

MacTuffX Bedford on 30 August 2026 is a functional fitness race at Barkers Lane combining ten Xercises with running in solo, doubles and relay formats. A LITE weight division is available and results appear on a detailed leaderboard.

A multi lap Scores Race through Lowestoft's historic highs on 30 August 2026, with senior and junior courses, medals and commemorative t shirts. Christchurch serves as race HQ with limited changing, bag drop and refreshments.

A trail event in Felsted on 31 Aug 2026 offering approx 10 miles or 10 km routes with written navigation only and no course markings. Entry includes a sandwich voucher and specific entry and transfer rules apply.

A sunset trail event at Ickworth Park offering 5K and 10K routes across limestone paths, woodland and meadows. The 10K is chip timed, all finishers receive a medal and the event operates as cupless with water refill points.

Mud Tribe is a muddy obstacle-course event near Brentwood, Essex offering 1.5 km and 5 km options with foam, achievable obstacles, finish-line facilities and a female-only wave; under-15s require a paying adult.

Women-only obstacle event in Brentwood, Essex featuring a supportive, non-competitive 5 km course for ages 7+. Includes varied obstacles, a finisher medal, hot wash-downs and on-site facilities.

An ultra endurance event in Heartwood Forest where participants cover four mile loops within a 12 hour window, solo or in relays up to eight people. Winners are decided by distance and all finishers receive a medal.

A scenic charity trail event from Great Ponton through Lincolnshire villages using footpaths, bridleways and quiet roads with multiple distance options, checkpoint refreshments and a finish meal on 6 September 2026.

An inaugural off road half marathon through Donyland Woods, Friday Woods and nearby countryside on Sunday 6th September. Entries were handled online and the event is listed as sold out with 26 entrants.

A countryside off road 10k along the Flitch Way with chip timing, water stations and finisher T shirt and medal. The event raises funds for Takeley Silver Jubilee Hall and includes a one mile family fun run.

Trifarm 10k Autumn trail run on 09 Sep 2026 is a largely off road 10k near Boreham as part of a four race series. The clockwise route uses public footpaths and bridleways and has bottled water at registration and a refill tap by the finish.

On 12 September 2026 a 50 km ultra follows the Boudicca Way from Diss to Norwich, passing historic Iceni and Roman sites. The route is waymarked, the start is close to Diss train station and the event is limited to 250 places.

A multi-distance walk, jog and run along the River Thames from Putney Bridge to Henley in September 2026 and 2027. Distances span **10 km** to **100 km** with rest stops, catering, medical support and GPS tracking via an event app.

A point-to-point 50K trail on 12 September 2026 from Lowestoft to Aldeburgh, following the Suffolk Coastal Path through Southwold, Dunwich Heath, Sizewell and Thorpeness. Fully marked with aid stations and a nine hour time limit.

A Backyard Ultra at High Lodge, Thetford Forest where runners complete a *4 miles 880 feet* loop every hour; full, 12 hour and 6 hour entry options are available, with camping, basic aid station and chip timing.

A charity ultramarathon along the Essex riverside on 12 September 2026, offering 10, 30 and 50 mile routes with marked trails, medical cover and checkpoints. Proceeds support Prostate Cancer UK.
