Yippee Ki Yay Races : Council Bluffs, Iowa

The event offers three out and back distances on the Wabash Trace Nature Trail with start and finish at the Iowa West Foundation Trail Head Park. The course is a rails to trails route with a very fine crushed limestone surface and includes paved sections on the 50K route.

Distances include:

  • 50K (approximately 31 mile)
  • Half Marathon
  • 10K

The field is limited to 200 runners total with specific allocations for each distance. Each event is chip timed and the course has a nine hour time limit for the 50K. Aid stations supply water, Honey Stinger sports drink and gels, and Ultra Food is provided for 50K runners after 10 miles. A portion of every entry fee is donated to the Wabash Trace Nature Trail.

Packet pickup occurs on October 22 and October 23 with one pickup location at Dick's Sporting Goods in Council Bluffs; there is no race day packet pickup. There are no refunds or transfers. Registered 50K runners may elect to drop down to the half marathon; dropped runners are recognized as finishers and may collect a finisher medal but are not eligible for award placement and receive no refunds.

Finishers receive a medal and a long sleeve lightweight race hoodie. The first 50 registered runners receive a water bottle and a special edition nutrition bundle from Honey Stinger included in the race packet. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
