Yippee-Ki-Yay Races - Council Bluffs, IA

The Yippee-Ki-Yay Races for 2026 are staged at the Iowa West Foundation Trail Head Park on the Wabash Trace Nature Trail. The event includes multiple distances and uses an out and back format on a converted rails to trails route with a fine crushed limestone surface.

Course notes state the 50K course is approximately 90% rail trail and 10% pavement. Each distance is chip timed and the event enforces a 9 hour course time limit. Aid stations provide water, a Honey Stinger sports drink, Honey Stinger gels, and for 50K runners additional Ultra Food after 10 miles. A portion of each entry fee is donated to the Wabash Trace Nature Trail.

Field limits are specified as 200 total runners with allocated spots for each distance. There are no refunds or transfers. Registered 50K runners have a drop down option to the half marathon; drop downs are not eligible for awards but finishers receive a medal. Awards include first through third overall male and female in each race and first and second place age group awards for several age categories.

Packet pickup is scheduled for October 22 and October 23 with one listed location at Dick's Sporting Goods, 3816 Metro Dr, Council Bluffs, IA 51501; there is no race day packet pickup.
