The Yippee-Ki-Yay Races take place on Saturday, October 24, 2026, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, with start and finish at the Iowa West Foundation Trail Head Park. The event offers three distances:

Each course is an out-and-back on the Wabash Trace Nature Trail with a crushed limestone surface. The 50K course is described as about 90% rail trail and 10% pavement. A portion of every entry fee is donated to the Wabash Trace Nature Trail.

Race details and logistics

The event is chip-timed and uses a 9 hour course time limit. Field limits apply: 200 total entrants (50 spots for the 50K, 100 for the Half Marathon, 50 for the 10K). There are aid stations stocked with water, Honey Stinger sports drink, Honey Stinger gels, and additional ultra food for 50K runners after 10 miles. There are no refunds or transfers.

Packet pickup is scheduled for 10/22 (location TBD) and 10/23 at Dick's Sporting Goods, 3816 Metro Dr, Council Bluffs, IA 51501, with pickup hours listed as 3-7 pm; there will be no race day packet pickup. Registered 50K runners may drop down to the Half Marathon but become ineligible for awards if they do. Participants receive a finisher medal and a long sleeve lightweight race hoodie; the first 50 registered runners receive a water bottle and a special nutrition bundle.
