Yippee-Ki-Yay Races : Council Bluffs, Iowa

The Yippee-Ki-Yay Races take place on October 24, 2026, on the Wabash Trace Nature Trail with start and finish at the Iowa West Foundation Trail Head Park. The event offers three distances:

  • 50K
  • Half Marathon
  • 10K

Each course is an out and back on a converted rails to trail with a fine crushed limestone surface. The 50K course includes approximately 90 percent trail and 10 percent pavement. All events are chip timed and the overall event has a nine hour course time limit. Aid stations provide water, Honey Stinger sports drink and gels, and Ultra Food for 50K runners after about 10 miles. A portion of entry fees will be donated to the Wabash Trace Nature Trail.

Field size is limited to 200 runners total with a distribution of 50 spots for the 50K, 100 for the Half Marathon, and 50 for the 10K. Packet pickup is scheduled for October 22 and October 23, with one pickup location at Dick’s Sporting Goods in Council Bluffs on October 23 from 3 to 7 pm; there will be no race day packet pickup. There are no refunds or transfers.

Registered participants receive a finisher medal and a long sleeve lightweight race hoodie. The first 50 registered runners receive a water bottle and a special edition nutrition bundle from Honey Stinger in the race packet. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
