Todd Peverill Cross Country Festival

The inaugural Todd Peverill Cross Country Festival takes place on September 5, 2026 in Glenwood, Iowa. The event is staged at Glenwood Lake Park and the Glenwood High School Cross Country Course and includes races for middle school, high school, and elite divisions, plus a free kids fun run.

The kids fun run is offered in three age groups with short measured distances:

  • Under 5 Years - 60 meters
  • Kindergarten–2nd Grade - 100 meters
  • 3rd–5th Grade - 150 meters

Middle school competition has combined classes with separate girls and boys races; the top 10 finishers receive medals. High school JV and varsity compete together in girls and boys races with top 10 medalists awarded. Following the elite races, results are combined with JV/Varsity for team standings. Team entries are limited to 25 teams.

The elite division is limited to qualified entries defined by placement or time and offers gift card awards of $150 for first place, $100 for second, and $75 for third. The Glenwood course is a permanent 100% grass layout in the Loess Hills with measured distances, good drainage, rolling terrain and spectator viewing opportunities. Recorded course marks include Girls 5K 17:09 and Boys 5K 15:29 among others. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
