Arrowhead Obstacle Trail Run

Arrowhead Obstacle Trail Run is scheduled for September 19, 2026 at Arrowhead Park near Neola, Iowa. The event uses the park trails and features obstacle elements on both the 5K course and a shorter kids course. All proceeds benefit the Pottawattamie County Trails Association.

Distances offered

  • 5K (3.1 miles) with 15+ obstacles.
  • 1 Mile Kid's Course with 10+ obstacles, recommended for ages 6 to 12 and adult chaperones but open to anyone.

The event includes a Competitive Wave and an Open Wave. Competitive participants must complete all obstacles to be eligible for top 10 finisher medals. Obstacles in the Open Wave and the 1 Mile course are optional for participants who choose to skip them. The event is not a mud run and does not include mud pits.

Registration and logistics are required for anyone on the course; a signed waiver is required for insurance purposes. Registration includes park entrance, free parking, and free event photos available after the run on social platforms. Pricing varies by registration period: the 1 Mile is listed at $10 with higher pricing in September and the 5K ranges from $30 to $40 depending on the registration month. A commemorative event T-shirt can be pre-ordered for $10 with a pre-order deadline of September 9.
