Yeti Ultra 24 Hour Challenge

The Yeti Ultra 24 Hour Challenge is offered in 2026 with an in-person edition in Damascus, Virginia, and a virtual edition. The event centers on repeating a short distance at regular intervals over a 24 hour period to total roughly 50 kilometers.

The core requirement is simple to describe: run 5.2 miles every 4 hours for 24 hours. That is six rounds that add up to approximately 50K. Participants may choose their own course and surface for each round.

The virtual edition allows flexible execution. Runners may start at any time on Yeti time and complete the six rounds anytime between Jan 1 and Dec 30. Indoor, outdoor, treadmill, and laps in nontraditional spaces are permitted. Attempts may be repeated as needed through the permitted window, and one registration covers multiple attempts. Results are self reported. Virtual finishers receive mailed finisher medals.

The in-person Yeti Live edition takes place in Damascus, Virginia. Organizers describe on-site support as simple aid and a communal atmosphere. There are no formal cutoffs and the event language frames nonfinishers as "not yet finished." Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
