New Balance RunningLane XC Championships

The New Balance RunningLane XC Championships is scheduled for Saturday, December 6, 2025, in Huntsville, Alabama at John Hunt Cross Country Park (2151 Airport Rd SW). The meet features high school championship races and an open community race. Distances offered include:

  • 5k championship races for boys, girls, and an open community 5k
  • 2 mile race for 1st-8th grade (7th and 8th graders may choose the championship 5k)

The course is a single-loop, spectator-friendly 5k. Championship races may be divided into Gold, Silver, and Bronze divisions based on seed times. For the Gold championship races the organizers plan to include approximately the top 20 teams by internal ranking and the next fastest 150 individual seed times. Awards for the Gold divisions include team honors and All-American recognitions; individuals finishing 1st-10th are named 1st Team All-American and places 11-20 are named 2nd Team All-American.

Registration, logistics and packet pickup

Team championship entries consist of seven runners of the same gender and same school; team registration fee is $225 for seven athletes. Seed times are required in a readable XX:XX format and should be a season best 5k from RXC 2024 (12/7/2024) onward. The registration deadline for teams and individuals is Sunday, November 30th. The first 1,700 registrants receive a 2025 RXC beanie; Gold qualifiers receive a special edition elite beanie and a Gold Division backpack.

Packet pickup is on Friday, December 5 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm central time. Saturday packet pickup begins at 6:30 am central time. Coaches and teams may preview the course on Thursday or Friday.
