WWII Veterans Memorial Trail Weighted Race : Mansfield, MA

The WWII Veterans Memorial Trail Weighted Race is a six hour trail event held on October 17, 2026 in Mansfield, MA. This is the 3rd Annual running of the weighted race format on the WWII Veterans Memorial Trail, a route dedicated to those who passed along the former Old Colony Railroad Line from the staging area at Camp Myles Standish in Taunton to the Boston port of embarkation.

The course is an out and back of at least 2 1/2 miles and includes paved, gravel and grass surfaces. In this format, participants carry a pack, plate carrier or other weight each lap and are weighed at the start and finish of every lap. The lower of the two recorded weights for a lap is multiplied by that lap’s distance to produce a pound-mile score called Kz. For example, carrying 30 pounds for a 2.5 mile lap yields 75 Kz for that lap. Competitors may change their carried weight between laps; total Kz across completed laps determines placement within divisions. The final lap must be completed before the six hour clock expires for its distance to count. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
