Houghton's Pond Trail Races

The event comprises two trail races held in the Houghton's Pond section of the DCR Blue Hills Reservation in Milton, Massachusetts, a few miles south of Boston. The courses follow rolling dirt roads and forest paths and avoid steep hiking trails. Both courses are approximately 95% on dirt and include small rocks and tree roots.

A portion of race proceeds will be donated to Friends of the Blue Hills, an organization that helps maintain and protect trails in the Reservation.

Distances offered:

  • 7 Miles about 700 feet total elevation change
  • 3.7 Miles about 300 feet total elevation change

Registration opens May 24, 2026 and closes September 3, 2026. Listed fees are $35 for the 7 mile race and $30 for the 3.7 mile race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
