Event Overview
The Old Goat Track Club XC Classic is a cross-country 5k event. The 2026 edition will be the fourth running of the race. It takes place on Sunday, August 23 at Waters Farm in Sutton, Massachusetts.

The event consists of two separate 5k races:
- Women's Open 5K XC Race
- Men's Open 5K XC Race
The course runs around fields at Waters Farm. It is described as a spike-friendly course, which briefly crosses over pavement but follows the same route as the previous year.
Series & Registration
The event serves as the first race in the USATF New England Cross Country Grand Prix series and is also part of the USATF New England All Terrain Runner Series.
Online pre-registration costs $35 plus a small transaction fee. Race-day registration is available on-site via paper application for $40. Day-of registration begins at 9:00 AM in the Darling Barn and accepts cash or Venmo. Team affiliation is required during registration; unattached runners can select "Unattached."
Event Information
Parking is free on-site. Two lots are available, but one has restricted entry/exit during the races for runner safety. Volunteers will assist with traffic.
Water and bananas will be available for runners at the finish line, but there is no water fountain on-site. Five portable bathrooms and one handicapped-accessible portable bathroom are located at the Darling Barn.
A designated team tent area is available near the starting line. An awards ceremony is scheduled for approximately 15 minutes after the final finisher of the men's race. Awards are given for top individuals and teams in open and masters divisions.
A post-race gathering, referred to as the Old Goat After Party, will be held at the Millbury Old Time Inn, about 12 minutes from the course. The facility is cash-only, has ATMs on-site, and offers drinks for purchase and beach volleyball. Some pizza will be provided while supplies last.
