Wolf Moon Trail Half Marathon

The event is a half marathon trail race held on 3 January 2026. It is an out-and-back route that runs from Race HQ at Rock Lane in Sutton Scarsdale through Sutton Spring Wood and up to the Five Pits Trail. The course is described as undulating and includes a turning loop with an aid station. All finishers receive a Wolf Moon medal and there are cake and hot drinks by a campfire at the finish.

Course and logistics

The route is marked for the trickier sections and runners should expect mixed trail terrain. Free car parking is available at Race HQ, Sutton Scarsdale Hall and Rock Lane. The race applies a time limit and organisers offer an optional 30 minute earlier start for slower athletes or those who do not feel confident running at dusk or in the dark; this is not a competitive wave start. Minimum age to enter is 18. Entry fees listed on the event page are £25 for UKA members and £27 for non-members. The organiser operates under a permit from the Association of Running Clubs.
