Winter Trail Fest East : Half Marathon and 5 Mile

Winter Trail Fest East is a winter trail event held on February 14, 2026 at Island Lake State Recreation Area, 6301 Kensington Rd, Brighton, Michigan 48116. The event offers two distance choices over natural trail terrain and is intended to run in typical February conditions such as snow, ice, slush, or mud.

The course information notes the half marathon winds through rolling singletrack while the 5 Mile provides a shorter trail option. Both distances include separate run and ruck divisions, and virtual race options are available. The event uses chip timing with live results, provides race day photos, and includes age group awards.

Included with standard registration are a custom WTF hoodie and a finisher medal; an economy registration option is available that omits some swag. RaceJoy mobile app features are available for live GPS tracking, progress alerts, and send-a-cheer functionality; to use RaceJoy participants must carry a phone and activate tracking.

Registration and policies state no refunds will be issued within 30 days of the event; earlier than 30 days a request may be made for a 50% refund of the entry fee excluding processing fees. Entries cannot be deferred to another event or year. Entries may be transferred to another individual for a $5 transfer fee, though t-shirt size cannot be changed.
