Horning Farms hosts its 6th annual 5k and 1 Mile Fun Run on August 8, 2026, at Horning Farms, 11834 E Pleasant Lake Rd, Manchester, MI 48158. The farm was founded in 1877 and overlooks Pleasant Lake. The operation is a 400 cow dairy farm managed by fifth and sixth generations, and the event highlights the farm setting and agricultural features.
Course details include a shorter fun run that passes cow feed storage areas and goes by baby calves and younger animals. That route uses a mix of concrete and dirt driveway and is stroller friendly. The 5k is a trail style loop that runs around and through crop fields and finishes in the heart of the farm. Parking is located at Horning Farms.
All participants receive race themed medals. The 5k awards overall and age group winners for both male and female categories. A free registration option for the 1 Mile Fun Run is available for participants who do not want a race T shirt. Paid registrations include a T shirt with sizes guaranteed for registrations received on or before July 23. Race day registration is permitted and leftover shirts may be offered to later registrants if available. Because the courses are close to livestock, participants are asked to leave pets at home.
