Wildwood Trail Marathon : Wildwood, MO
Wildwood Trail Marathon is a trail race weekend hosted by Terrain Trail Runners at LaSalle Springs Middle School in Wildwood, Missouri. The event offers three distances:
- Marathon
- 1/2 Marathon
- 10K
Courses use a mix of paved greenway, crushed gravel and dirt, and approximately 90 percent single track. The marathon route links the Hamilton-Carr Trail, Al Foster Memorial Trail, Bluff View Trail, Rock Hollow Trail, Sherman Beach Trailhead, Cedar Bluff Trail and Stinging Nettle Trail before returning to the school. The marathon has an approximate elevation gain of 1700 ft and is described as roughly 26.2 miles. The half marathon follows portions of the same trails with about 750 ft of elevation gain and is roughly 13.1 miles. The 10K is an out-and-back on paved and crushed gravel surfaces, roughly 3 miles out and back, and lacks the technical rocks and roots found on the longer courses.
This is a cup free event; runners must carry a drinking receptacle. Aid stations are staffed and stocked: marathon runners have three manned stations, half marathon runners have two, and 10K runners have one. Included items vary by distance; full registrations for the half and marathon include a custom long sleeve technical shirt, a finisher medal and a catered post-race lunch. Race day registration is available with specified cash fees and may include limited swag. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
