The Winter Wild Thangs Trail Series is a three-race trail series held at Monte Sano State Park, 5105 Nolen Ave SE, Huntsville, AL. The series includes the following race days and distances:

  • January 3, 2026 - Frozen Trash Panda: 10K, Half Marathon

All participants receive a short sleeve tri-blend race shirt. A series t-shirt, finisher awards, and a series plaque are provided to entrants who register for one of the bundled series options. The series bundle is capped at 250 runners.

Logistics and race features

Packet pickup is available the Friday before each race from 12:00pm-5:00pm, and on race mornings during an early pickup window. Aid stations on course will offer water, electrolyte drink, soda, GU, pretzels, candy, and granola bars. Marco's Pizza is listed as a race sponsor and pizza will be available at each finish line.

Age groups are 0-9, 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+. There are very loose course cutoffs; Long Series participants face a 17 minute per mile cutoff.
