In It For The Long Run - event details

This multi-day running event at John Hunt Park in Huntsville, Alabama, offers a variety of distance and timed formats on a looped course. The loop is a rubberized surface of approximately 1.7 miles, intended to reduce impact for distance running. The final loop distance for finishers will be announced prior to the race start.

The event is free to enter and participation is limited to 250 runners. It will use chip timing and includes a traditional 24 hour format in which participants may run continuously or take breaks as needed. Team entries of up to six members are permitted for the 12 hour and 24 hour events. Personal tents and setups are allowed for runners planning extended stays, and overnight camping is permitted on Saturday night.

A fully stocked aid station will be available throughout the event offering fresh fruit, energy gels, hydration including Coca Cola products, sandwiches, and candy. Food trucks will be on site and hot food such as grilled cheese and pancakes will be served at various times; burgers and pizza may also be available. Awards are planned for top overall finishers and top masters, top three male and female finishers, team awards, and special finisher recognition. Packet pick-up will be held at Fleet Feet Huntsville on Friday. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
