Singing River Runs

Mooresville, United States • 11 Apr 2026

Event Overview

The Singing River Runs is a trail running event held in Mooresville, Alabama. Now in its fourth year, the race supports the Singing River Trail, a planned 200 plus mile greenway system designed to connect communities across North Alabama. The event highlights the natural environment of the region while celebrating Native American heritage and regional development.

Pathways for the race take participants through the 1818 Farms area. The routes consist of packed dirt and gravel roads that lead towards the river before returning. Much of the course is situated under a tree canopy, offering a sheltered environment away from open roads. The terrain is described as forgiving, and there are no time limits imposed on participants.

The event features three distinct distances:

  • 5K
  • 10K
  • 25K

The races start and finish at the Singing River House. This event is held in conjunction with the Blue Heron Hundreds, which includes ultra-marathon distances such as a 100 miler, 100K, and 50K. Following the completion of their distances, participants can remain on-site to listen to music, have snacks, and support runners competing in the longer endurance races. The event is sponsored by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama and REI Sports. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
