Alabama A&M 5k Trail Race

The Alabama A&M 5k Trail Race is a running event held at the Land Trust of North Alabama within the Chapman Mountain Nature Preserve in Huntsville. The competition is part of the Huntsville Track Club Grand Prix series.

Participants traverse a course utilizing Land Trust trails, which are shared with Alabama A&M on Chapman Mountain. The terrain features a variety of surfaces, including sections of grass, gravel, and dirt. The primary distance offered is:

Access to the event location is via HWY 72. For those traveling West from Moore’s Mill Road, the parking area is located by following the far right merge lane up the mountain and turning right at the end of the guard rail. Drivers approaching from downtown Huntsville or Madison on I-565 East must make a U-turn at Moore’s Mill Road to reach the preserve.
