Wild Thangs Trail Series

The Wild Thangs Trail Series is a four race trail running series held around Huntsville, AL from June through August 2026. Each event offers shorter and longer distances across bluff views, creek crossings, and sections with waterfall scenery. Several aid stations are placed on course offering water, Gatorade, soda, GU, pretzels, M&M's, and granola bars. Marco's Pizza is a sponsor and pizza is provided at the finish of each race.

Series entries are offered as Short Series and Long Series bundles. The series bundle is capped at 250 runners. Bundle registrants receive a Wild Thangs series t shirt, finisher awards, and a series plaque. Age groups for all races are 0-9, 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 plus. Organizers note very loose cutoffs and recommend participants able to maintain roughly 15 minute miles consider appropriate distances; Long Series participants may be subject to a 17 minutes per mile cutoff.

Packet pickup is available the day before each race and on race mornings at RunningLane, 2407 Memorial Pkwy SW, Huntsville, AL 35801. In the event of severe weather starts may be delayed or events cancelled. Average summer temperatures in Huntsville are lows in the mid 60s to mid 70s Fahrenheit and highs in the mid 80s to mid 90s Fahrenheit.
