Wicked Root 50K takes place in Lowell, NC on June 13, 2026. The event offers the following distances:

Registration and entry are managed through the event organizer. The event is private, and unregistered participants are not allowed. Entry fees are non-refundable if the event is canceled. Race results will be posted on UltrasignUp.

Course and race logistics

The main route is a 10-mile full loop of the park. Flagging for the course uses red ribbon and yellow arrows. Elevation gain per loop is 1,400 ft. Trekking poles are allowed and the organizer requests participants bring them. BIBs must be worn on the front and visible throughout the event. There is a 10-hour cutoff for the race. No dogs or strollers are allowed on the course unless an exception is made. Runners and walkers may participate provided they meet the time limit. Packet pickup will be available on race day only; there will be no day-before pickup.

Aid stations and awards

Aid stations will be stocked with basic food items such as pickles, cereal, pretzels, candy, fruit, and bacon. Hydration options include water, Tailwind, and a variety of sodas. First aid supplies will be available at the aid station. Finishers receive handmade pottery medals produced by BlueGill Pottery; each medal is unique.
