Psychoactive: a Last Runner Standing

Huntersville, United States • 20 Sep 2025

Event overview

Psychoactive is a last-runner-standing running event on September 20, 2025, held at Blackberry Ridge Farm in Huntersville, North Carolina. The event uses a compact looped course that runs through gravel roads, trails, rolling fields and active wildflower and produce rows on a family- and veteran-owned farm. The course measures approximately 1.25-1.5 miles per lap with roughly 100 ft of elevation gain per lap. Participation is limited to the first 125 registrants; standard and last-call registration tiers were listed as sold out and a waitlist is available. The event names Blackberry Ridge Farm as the beneficiary.

Format and logistics

All participants start each lap together on a set schedule and must begin and complete each lap within the posted time limits to continue. Runners who fail to start or finish a lap within the allowed time are eliminated; the event continues until one runner remains. Participants are expected to be self-sufficient for shade, seating, nutrition and other personal needs. Race HQ will provide unlimited water, limited Tailwind and Coke, some snacks, two port-a-johns and parking on the farm. Beer, including Sierra Nevada and a homebrew, is noted as available for finishers or eliminated participants (21+). Prize laps and distance-based rewards are offered; examples of prize milestones include:

  • 13.1 miles
  • 26.2 miles
  • 35 miles
  • 50 miles

The event lists recycled-material shirts, a souvenir bib and other giveaways. Environmental measures include shirt, sneaker and medal recycling, cup-free operations, and a safety-pin-free initiative. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
