Rewild: Last Runner Standing Event
Rewild is a lap based elimination running event held at Historic Rural Hill near Huntersville, North Carolina on Saturday, September 19, 2026. The course is a compact loop of roughly 1.75 mile that combines singletrack, gravel roads, and open livestock fields. Each lap has about 100 feet of elevation gain and the loop starts and finishes at the same Race HQ area.
All participants begin each lap together and follow a diminishing clock. Runners who do not begin a lap within the first 20 seconds or who do not complete a lap within the time limit are eliminated. The event continues until one runner remains. If no runner completes the final lap the winner is the athlete who completed the most recent lap the fastest. Pacers are not permitted once ten runners remain.
The event is limited to the first 175 registrants. Standard registration was listed at $90 through July 31, 2026 with a potential late fee thereafter. Registrants receive a custom HPM Sun Hoodie made from eco friendly materials, a souvenir bib, opportunities for escalating prizes at set distances, and two cold beverages for participants age 21 and over. Free parking is provided.
Participants are expected to be self sufficient throughout the day. An aid station is available with water, Tailwind, soda, bananas, PB&Js, pretzels, chips, and snacks. Two portable toilets are located at Race HQ. Organizers also run environmental programs including apparel, shoe, and medal recycling and a cup free and safety pin free event policy.
