The Sweaty Backyard Cox Ultra

The event takes place on July 25, 2026 in Concord, North Carolina at 3702 SAPP RD. It uses a loop course of exactly 4.167 miles and the race is open ended, allowing participants to continue until only one runner completes a final loop.

The event uses a single starting corral that remains the same size for the entire event; participants must be in the corral at the bell. Each loop begins precisely one hour after the previous loop. A 3, 2, and 1 minute warning is given before each start and all participants must start at the bell; late starts are not allowed.

During the event, participants may not leave the course until a loop is completed except to use restrooms. Non participants are not allowed on the course, including eliminated runners. Personal aid during a loop is not permitted, while common aid stations are allowed. Artificial aids, including trekking poles, are prohibited and slower runners must allow passes. Timing of individual loops is optional.

The winner is the last person to complete a loop; all other entrants are recorded as DNF for the purposes of winning. Results list each runner's distance covered and if no runner completes one more loop than anyone else, no winner is declared. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
