Format and rules

The course is a loop of 4.167 miles. Each loop starts precisely one hour after the previous loop. Participants must be in the starting corral at the bell; the corral is measured to fit the entire starting field and does not change size during the event. All participants must start at the bell and late starts are not allowed.

Runners may not leave the course until a loop is completed, except to use restrooms. No non-participants are allowed on the course. Personal aid during a loop is not allowed, but common aid stations are permitted. Artificial aids, including trekking poles, are prohibited. Slower runners must allow passes. Timing of loops is optional. The winner is the last person to complete a loop; all others are recorded as DNF. Results will state the distance covered for each runner. The event is open-ended.
