Flint's Fabulous 5K

Flint's Fabulous 5K is a community run and walk held in Kannapolis, North Carolina on September 26, 2026. The event is presented at 150 North Research Campus Drive and raises funds for Leashes of Valor, a nonprofit that provides no-cost service dogs to post 9/11 veterans.

Registration fees and optional add-on donations are directed to Leashes of Valor to supply foster and training families with items needed during training. The base registration includes a race shirt and training treats; a no-shirt registration option is also available. A guaranteed race shirt requires registration by September 11.

Leashes of Valor places dogs in approved foster homes from about 8 weeks of age through 1.5 to 2.0 years while they train for public access. The organization covers veterinary care and training resources during this period. On average, a fully trained service dog requires substantial funding to prepare for a veteran at no cost to the recipient.

For 2026 the race is part of the Run Kannapolis Race Series; registering for all eight races in the series includes a 25% discount on total series registration. Packet pickup is available the day prior or at the start/finish area on race day, where participants receive shirt, bib, and safety pins. The event is dog friendly; dogs should be well socialized and handlers should clean up after them. Finisher bags are distributed at the finish line.
