The Last Wolf : Kings Mountain, NC

The Last Wolf is scheduled for Saturday, Oct 10, 2026 in Kings Mountain, North Carolina. The event offers multiple options including a Last Man Standing format, a 50K, a 25K, and a 5K.

The core Last Man Standing format uses a 3.1 mile (5K) loop repeated. The allowed time to complete each loop cycles through 40, 45, 50, 55, and 60 minutes and then resets to 40 minutes. Runners who miss a cutoff are eliminated. The final winner must complete one solo loop within the current time limit; if that loop is not completed in time, no winner is declared.

The course runs on gravel trails with some elevation changes. The aid station will provide basic food items such as pickles, cereal, pretzels, candy, fruit, and bacon, plus hydration options including water, Tailwind, and various sodas. First aid supplies will be available at the aid station.

Additional event rules note that bibs must be worn visibly on the front, trekking poles are not allowed, and weather can include rain or fog. There will be no day before packet pickup. Medals are awarded on completion and each is unique to the finisher. No dogs or strollers are allowed on course except by special exception. Entry fees are non refundable if the event is canceled; deferral requires contact with the race director. The event is private and unregistered participants are not allowed.
