The Last Wolf - Kings Mountain

Kings Mountain, United States • 10 Oct 2026

Event format and distances

The Last Wolf is a backyard-ultra style event that uses a repeating 3.1-mile loop. The time allowed per loop increases through a cycle of 40, 45, 50, 55, then 60 minutes, then resets and repeats. Runners who miss the cutoff for a loop are eliminated. The final winner must complete one solo loop within the current time limit; if that solo loop is not completed in time, the race can end with no winner.

Course, aid and rules

The official loop distance is 3.1 miles (5K). The course runs on gravel trails with some uphill and downhill sections and follows an out-and-back pattern of about a mile and a little out then back. Packet pickup will not be available the day before the event.

An aid station will provide basic food items such as pickles, cereal, pretzels, candy, fruit, and bacon, plus water, Tailwind, a variety of sodas, and first aid supplies. Bibs must be worn visibly on the front. Trekking poles are not allowed. Dogs and strollers are not permitted on the course unless a special exception is made. Runners and walkers may compete if they can finish within the race time limits. Medals are awarded upon completion and are unique to each finisher. Race results will be posted on UltrasignUp. Registration closes on Mon, Oct 5 at 11:59PM ET. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
