The Last Wolf - Kings Mountain, NC - October 10, 2026

The Last Wolf is a Last Man Standing running event organized by Dirty Wolf Ultras in Kings Mountain, NC. The event uses a repeated 3.1 mile loop and continues until only one runner remains.

The race format cycles the allowed loop time through 40, 45, 50, 55, and 60 minutes and then resets to 40 minutes. Runners who fail to complete a loop within the current cutoff are eliminated. To claim victory, the remaining runner must complete one final solo loop within the active time limit; if that final loop is not completed in time, the race finishes with no winner.

The course runs on gravel trails with some elevation change. The aid station is stocked with basic food items including pickles, cereal, pretzels, candy, fruit, and bacon, plus hydration options such as water, Tailwind, and various sodas. First aid supplies are available at the aid station.

Race rules include visible bib placement on the front of shirt or shorts, no trekking poles, and no dogs or strollers on course except by special exception. Both runners and walkers may participate as long as they meet the time limits. Medals are awarded for completion and each finisher receives a different medal. The event is private and unregistered participants are not permitted. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
