Kings Mountain, United States • 10 Oct 2026

Event

The Last Wolf takes place on October 10, 2026, in Kings Mountain, North Carolina, at 4611 Linwood Road. The event is organized by Dirty Wolf Racing and includes multiple race options:

  • Last Man Standing format
  • 50K
  • 25K
  • 5K

Medals are awarded on completion and each finisher receives a different medal. The event is private and unregistered participants are not allowed. Entry fees are non-refundable if the event is canceled; deferral inquiries are handled by the race director.

Format and course

The Last Man Standing uses a repeating 3.1-mile (5K) loop. Time limits for each loop increase in a cycle of 40 → 45 → 50 → 55 → 60 minutes, then reset to 40 minutes and repeat. Runners who miss a cutoff are eliminated. A single runner must complete one final solo loop within the current time limit to claim victory; if that final solo loop is not completed in time, there is no winner.

The trail is primarily gravel, described as roughly a mile out and a little beyond, then back, with some elevation gain and descent. Aid station supplies include basic food items (for example, pickles, cereal, pretzels, candy, fruit, bacon), water, Tailwind, a variety of sodas, and first aid. Trekking poles, dogs, and strollers are not allowed on the course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
