The Last Wolf - Kings Mountain, NC

The Last Wolf is a Last Man Standing running event on October 10, 2026, organized by Dirty Wolf Ultras in Kings Mountain, NC at 4611 Linwood Road. The event uses repeated loops and several distance options.

Distances:

  • 50K
  • 25K
  • 5K

The core format uses a 3.1 mile loop. Time limits change each lap in a cycle of 40, 45, 50, 55, and 60 minutes, then reset to 40 minutes and repeat. Runners who fail to complete a loop within the current time limit are eliminated. To claim victory, the final remaining runner must complete one solo loop within the active time limit; if that loop is not completed in time, the race can end with no winner.

The course follows gravel trails in an out and back pattern with some elevation gain and loss. There will be an on-course aid station stocked with basic foods such as pickles, cereal, pretzels, candy, fruit, and bacon, plus water, Tailwind, assorted sodas, and first aid supplies.

Race procedures note no day before bib pickup, bibs must be worn visibly on the front, and trekking poles are not allowed. Weather may include rain or fog. Medals are awarded for race completion; each finisher receives a unique medal. The event is private and unregistered participants are not allowed. Registration closes on Mon, Oct 5.
