The Last Wolf - Kings Mountain

The event takes place on Saturday, October 10, 2026, in Kings Mountain, North Carolina. The address is 4611 Linwood Road.

Race Format

This is an endurance race with a unique "backyard ultra" format. Instead of a single time limit, runners complete a 3.1-mile (5K) loop repeatedly. The key difference is that the time limit to finish each loop changes in a set cycle, starting at 40 minutes and increasing to 45, 50, 55, and 60 minutes. After the 60-minute loop, the cycle resets to 40 minutes and repeats. This pattern continues until only one runner remains.

Rules and Details

A runner is eliminated if they fail to complete a loop within the current time limit. The last remaining runner must complete one final solo loop within the time limit to claim victory. The course is a gravel trail with some elevation gain and loss. The event includes a 50K, 25K, and 5K option, and also features a Last Man Standing competition.

Event Information

On race day, the park opens at 7 AM. Bib pickup is available from 7:10 AM to 7:50 AM. There is no packet pickup the day before. An aid station will provide basic food, hydration, water, and Tailwind.
