Format, course and rules

The Last Wolf uses a repeating 3.1-mile loop. The time limit for each loop increases through a cycle of 40 → 45 → 50 → 55 → 60 minutes and then resets to 40 minutes. Missing a cutoff results in elimination. The final runner must complete one solo loop within the current time limit to claim victory; if that loop is not completed in time, no winner is declared.

The course is primarily gravel trail, described as an out-and-back route of about a mile out then back, with some elevation gain and loss. The aid station will offer basic food (pickles, cereal, pretzels, candy, fruit, bacon), water, Tailwind, a variety of sodas, and first aid supplies. Runners must wear bibs visibly on the front. Trekking poles are not allowed. No dogs or strollers are allowed on the course except by special exception. Entry fees are non-refundable if the event is canceled. The event is private; unregistered participants are not allowed. Runners and walkers may participate if they can finish within the time limits.
