The Black Copperhead Sting is a trail race held at Rocky Branch Park in Belmont, NC on August 15, 2026. The event offers multiple distances:

Course and on-course support

The loop measures 3.24 miles and has about 293 feet of elevation gain per lap. The course follows named trail sections (Tread, Canopy, Tread, Eagle, Finish) and is marked with red ribbons and arrows. The terrain includes twists, climbs, roots, and rocks.

Aid stations provide a variety of food items including pickles, candy, cereal, pretzels, fruit, bacon, plus water, Tailwind, and sodas. First aid is on standby. Participants are required to wear their bib on the front. Trekking poles are allowed. Runners and walkers are permitted. Dogs and strollers are not allowed unless approved by the organizer. Race the Frosty Cox six hour trail in Concord NC on a rugged 6.2 mile singletrack loop with creek crossings, pine groves and steady climbs. Run as many laps as you can for finisher awards and a 50K award for five laps.

Join The Legacy on January 17 in Gastonia for trail races from 1 Mile to 50K through Spencer Mountain loops. Proceeds support research into brain disorders and learning disabilities; finishers get a unique pottery medal.

Run scenic trails at Anne Springs Close Greenway just outside Charlotte with 4, 9 or 13 mile options for on site or virtual runners. All finishers get a Recover hoodie and medal, plus post race food, beer and a bonfire.
