Mountaineer Rumble 12 Hour Trail Run
The Mountaineer Rumble is a timed trail-running event held at Kings Mountain State Park near Clover, SC. The race uses a repeated 4.5 mile loop that follows sections of the National Recreation Trail (Blue Blaze), the CCC Multi-Use Trail (Orange Blaze), the Living History Farm, and the Historic Farm Trail (Yellow Blaze. The loop passes Lake Crawford, Lake Crawford Dam, creeks, rolling hills, and a living history farm with horses, cattle, and donkeys.
The event is run to a 12 hour time limit and participants may complete as many loops as they choose within that period. Runners pass the aid station and the drop bag area on every loop, giving direct access to race-provided supplies and personal gear without leaving the course.
Organizers offer special pricing for 2026 and cover required park insurance and admission fees on behalf of entrants. The race provides fluid and electrolyte options, including water, Gatorade, Tailwind, and Skratch. Personal food, gels, and similar consumables are the responsibility of each runner.
