Mountaineer Rumble 12 Hour

The Mountaineer Rumble is a 12 hour trail running event held at Kings Mountain State Park in Clover, SC. The course is a roughly 4.5 mile loop that uses portions of the National Recreation Trail (Blue Blaze), the CCC Multi-Use Trail (Orange Blaze), the Living History Farm, and the Historic Farm Trail (Yellow Blaze.

Each loop passes scenic features including Lake Crawford, Lake Crawford Dam, creeks, rolling hills, and the Living History Farm where horses, cattle, and donkeys can be seen. The event takes place during nighttime hours so runners will experience the course by moonlight.

An aid station and drop bag area sit on the loop so runners have access to race-provided hydration and gear on every circuit. The organizers will provide water, Gatorade, Tailwind, and Skratch. Participants are responsible for bringing their own food and gels.

Organizers state they will cover park insurance and admission fees for runners and offer special pricing for 2026 to reduce participant costs. The stated goal of the event is to showcase portions of the Kings Mountain State Park trail system and to support further park improvements. Registration for the event closes on September 9 at 11:59 PM ET. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
