Mountaineer Rumble 12 Hour

The Mountaineer Rumble is a 12 hour trail running event held at Kings Mountain State Park in Clover, SC. The course is a loop of 4.5 miles that follows sections of the National Recreation Trail (Blue Blaze), the CCC Multi-Use Trail (Orange Blaze), the Living History Farm, and the Historic Farm Trail (Yellow Blaze.

Each loop passes views of Lake Crawford and Lake Crawford Dam, creeks, rolling hills, and the animals at the Living History Farm, including horses, cattle, and donkeys. Runners may complete as many loops as they choose during the event duration.

An aid station and a drop bag area are located on the loop so runners can access provided race supplies and personal gear without leaving the course. Event organizers provide water, Gatorade, Tailwind, and Skratch at the aid station. Food, energy gels, and similar items are the responsibility of individual runners.

The stated purpose of the event is to highlight portions of the park trail system and to support future park improvements. For 2026 the event offers special pricing; organizers note that park insurance and admission fees per runner are covered by the event.
