Mountaineer Rumble 12 Hour

The Mountaineer Rumble is a 12 hour trail run held at Kings Mountain State Park in Clover, SC. Participants run a 4.5 mile loop that follows sections of the National Recreation Trail (Blue Blaze), the CCC Multi-Use Trail (Orange Blaze), the Living History Farm, and the Historic Farm Trail (Yellow Blaze. The loop passes Lake Crawford and Lake Crawford Dam, creeks, rolling hills, and livestock at the Living History Farm, with running under a full moon noted as part of the experience.

Runners may complete as many loops as they choose during the event. An aid station and a drop bag area are located on the course so runners can access race supplies and personal gear on each circuit without leaving the loop.

Organizers state that park insurance and admission per runner are required and that those expenses will be covered. The event provides water, Gatorade, Tailwind, and Skratch; food and gels are the responsibility of each runner. The event aims to highlight portions of the Kings Mountain trail system and to contribute to further improvements to the park. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
