Mountaineer Rumble 12 Hour Trail Run
The Mountaineer Rumble is a 12 hour trail running event held at Kings Mountain State Park in Clover, SC. Runners complete repeated loops on a 4.5 mile circuit that stays on park trails for the duration of the event.
The loop follows portions of the National Recreation Trail (Blue Blaze), the CCC Multi-Use Trail (Orange Blaze), the Living History Farm, and the Historic Farm Trail (Yellow Blaze). The course passes Lake Crawford and Lake Crawford Dam, creeks and rolling hills, and it runs by farm areas with horses, cattle, and donkeys.
Aid station and drop bag areas sit on the loop so participants can access race aid and personal gear without leaving the course. Organizers provide water, Gatorade, Tailwind, and Skratch; runners are responsible for their own food and gels.
Organizers note special pricing for 2026 and state that park insurance and admission costs per runner are covered by the event. The stated goal of the Mountaineer Rumble is to showcase sections of the park trail system and to support further park improvements. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
