Midsummer Running at Ardingly Reservoir

The Phoenix West Sussex - Sunset 5k and 10K is an evening running event held during the midsummer period. The course is located at Ardingly Reservoir near Haywards Heath and utilizes a scenic out-and-back route along the water's edge. The terrain consists of a mix of paved paths and compact off-road trails. The landscape features open views of the reservoir, wooded sections, and undulating gradients.

Participants have the flexibility to choose their distance on the day of the event. The course is designed in laps, with each lap covering 5 km. Runners can complete a single lap or two laps to reach the total distance:

  • 5 km (one lap)
  • 10 km (two laps)

This is a timed event with a fully marshalled route. A dedicated aid station stocked with food and drinks is available to participants during the run. After finishing, runners can access a designated zone to rest. Every participant receives a finisher's medal or memento as part of the entry. Registration must be completed in advance as there is no option for entry on the day of the event. Under UK Athletics rules, specific distance restrictions may apply to participants aged 20 or under.
