South Downs (Summer Event)

The event comprises four point to point races through the South Downs National Park in the South East of England. Courses run on non-technical, runnable trails with a mix of faster sections and hillier parts. At various points the routes merge to cross the white cliffs of Beachy Head and finish in Eastbourne.

Distances offered include:

  • 100k
  • 50k
  • 20 miles
  • Half marathon (Seven Sisters)

Routes are fully marked and include regular, well stocked aid stations staffed by volunteers. The races are structured so the majority of participants finish close together, creating a concentrated finish area for participants and supporters. Race-day facilities at the finish include commentary, food, music, massage and drinks.

The 100k race will be part of the South Downs Triple Crown, a challenge beginning in 2025 that requires completing three ultra-distance races within the calendar year; there are four available Triple Crown variations. Entry fees for the individual races vary by distance and category. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
