South Downs 50k

The South Downs 50k is a point to point trail race that starts at the University of Brighton in Falmer and finishes at Helen Garden in Eastbourne. The route primarily follows the South Downs Way, traveling through the South Downs National Park and concluding over the white cliffs of Beachy Head.

The course covers a total distance of 50 km and features approximately 3,600 feet of ascent and descent. The terrain consists of 99% trail and 1% road, utilizing a combination of grass trails, farm tracks, and forest paths. The surface is described as runnable and non-technical. Because of the 11-hour cutoff time, the event is open to both runners and walkers.

A combined entry covering four Centurion Running 50 mile races in 2026, each held on a different date. Minimum age 20, entry fee listed, with an optional XCover refund option and published terms and policies.

A 50 mile ultramarathon along the South Downs Way National Trail from Worthing to Eastbourne. Experience 5,700 feet of elevation gain across rolling chalk paths and finish with a lap of an athletics track.

Trail races on the South Downs Way around Stanmer with 21 km, 14 km and 5 km options. Routes pass Ditchling Beacon and include chip timing, a finisher medal, GPX files and on-course support for the longer distances.

Experience a unique 42km journey starting in the woodland trails of Stanmer Park and the South Downs before joining the road for a grand seaside finish at Hove Lawns.
