About the race

Longbridge 100 Backyard Ultra Taster Session is a taster event on the Longbridge 100 Backyard Ultra course at Church Farm, Litlington. It is not a full backyard ultra but uses the backyard format to provide a mini experience while incorporating a marathon distance by running six yards of 7 km each, a total of approximately 42 km. The session follows backyard rules: each yard is timed to start one hour after the previous with advance warnings before the bell, each yard must be completed in less than an hour to count, no personal aid is allowed during a yard, and competitors must collect a yard token at turnaround point 2 and return with it to record the lap. Results and the winner are determined by actual running time over all six laps, with a separate award for the fastest lap on lap 4. Event support includes full medical cover, two portable toilets for runners and one onsite public toilet, basic provisions of water, active root ginger, fruit, flapjack and malt loaf, and an 8 m x 4 m marquee for rest subject to weather.

Cadence Cafe in Litlington will be open for snacks and hot drinks. The session also includes a trial lap for marshals and WOLO families completed for WOLO charity, and provisions to support the #42Goose challenge. The event is cup free so participants must provide their own cup. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
