Waddington Fell Race

Clitheroe, United Kingdom • 27 Sep 2026

Waddington Fell Race

Waddington Fell Race is organised by Bowland Fell Runners as a category BM fell race. The course is approximately 11.3 km with about 415 m (1,362 ft) of ascent and is marshalled and partially flagged. There is a single checkpoint at the trig point on Waddington Fell (GR715475) and a cut off on the track at the top of Summit House Farm (GR712465); the cut off point corresponds to roughly 2.4 miles / 3.86 km and 750 ft / 228 m. Mountain rescue will be present and any surplus funds from the event are intended for donation.

Logistics are centred on Waddington village. Registration is handled at Waddington Village Club on Clitheroe Road, BB7 3HW; the club provides toilets and a place to leave bags at the owner’s risk. Parking in the village is limited; a small amount of free public parking is available on Twitter Lane and opposite the school on West Bradford Road, and car sharing is encouraged. Water will be available at the finish but participants are asked to bring a cup where possible.

Mandatory kit requires a waterproof top at minimum. Depending on weather, full FRA race kit may be required and could include waterproof top and bottoms, hat, gloves, emergency food, whistle, map, and compass. If a runner retires they must return to the village, inform the race organiser and hand in their race number. Litter should not be left on any part of the course.
