Waddington Fell Race 2026

The Waddington Fell Race is scheduled for Sunday 27 September 2026 and is listed as category BM with a course of 11.3 km / 7 miles and 415 m / 1,362 ft ascent. The event is organised from Waddington Village Club on Clitheroe Road, with the start a short walk through St Helen’s Churchyard and along the lane behind the Lower Buck pub (GR724437). Marshals will direct runners at the route start.

Parking in the village is limited. A small amount of public parking is available on Twitter Lane and opposite the school on West Bradford Road; attendees are asked to park considerately around Waddington. Registration takes place at the village club and toilets are available there. Bags may be left at the club at the owner’s risk.

The route is well marshalled and partially flagged. There is one checkpoint at the trig point on Waddington Fell (GR715475) and a cut off on the track at the top of Summit House Farm (GR712465). The cut off point is 45 minutes from the start and is approximately 2.4 miles / 3.86 km and 750 ft / 228 m into the course. Runners who retire must return to the village, inform the organiser, and hand in their race number. Mountain rescue will be present and any surplus funds will be donated to them.

Minimum kit required includes a waterproof top. Full FRA race kit may be required depending on the weather and can include waterproof top and bottoms, hat, gloves, emergency food, whistle, map, and compass. Water is available at the finish and participants are asked not to leave litter on the course. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
