Veterans' Honor Run: 22 Hours of Tribute

The Veterans' Honor Run: 22 Hours of Tribute takes place November 8-9, 2025, at Heritage Park in Canton, MI. The event is in its fourth year and raises awareness of veteran suicide; the organizer states that 20-22 veterans die by suicide every day. Fundraising will support organizations that serve veterans, with Guitars for Vets named as a beneficiary.

Registration includes an event Sport-Tek CamoHex t-shirt and an event Sport water bottle. An aid station will offer water, sports drink, coffee, soup, fruit, cheese, pizza, grilled cheese, PB&J, burgers, cookies, candies, pretzels, and more; participants may report dietary needs for accommodation. Heated bathrooms are available near the aid station. Packet pickup is available the day before the event.

Race options and course

  • 22 Hour Ultra - complete as many loops as desired during the 22-hour event.
  • Virtual 22 Hour Ultra - participate at own location and submit tracking data for awards consideration.
  • 5k Race - timed 5k with prizes for top finishers.

The on-site course is a roughly 1 mile loop around Heritage Park on a paved path with a short bridge and mostly flat terrain. Course loop passes are located near parking lots. Participants in the 22-hour event may take breaks and resume anytime during the event. Veterans may register free using the coupon code VETERAN. Celebrate Black Toenail Friday at Proud Lake on scenic wooded trails with lakes and rolling hills in late fall. Run the half marathon or 7.5 mile in person or virtual to finish the Trivium Michigan Mega Medal Series.

Run snowy singletrack at Island Lake in February on a rolling half or a shorter 5 Mile as trails may include snow, ice or mud. Run, ruck or go virtual and earn a custom hoodie, finisher medal and post race treats.

Experience hilly, scenic loops at the 39th Trail Weekend in Pinckney State Recreation Area. Distances 5M to 50K, with medals, finish food, beer, bonfires, music and part of fees donated to a memorial fund.

Run scenic trails at Independence Oaks County Park around Crooked Lake with options for 2.3 mile, 5K and 10K routes. Enjoy chip timing, a performance shirt, finisher medal and post race refreshments for a fun day outdoors.
