Veterans' Honor Run: 22 Hours of Tribute
The Veterans' Honor Run is an annual 22 hours event held at Heritage Park in Canton Township, Michigan. The 2026 edition is the fifth running and is organized to raise funds for veteran support organizations and to honor veterans lost to suicide. The organizers have set a fundraising goal of twenty two thousand dollars for 2026, with beneficiaries including Guitars for Vets, Therapeutic Riding Inc., and Leashes of Valor.
Participants loop a paved trail that is about one mile long with minimal hills. The event is walker friendly and follows a choose your own challenge format: participants may start, stop, and take breaks at any time and complete as many loops as they wish. In person entrants are chip timed, and a virtual option is available with results required by November tenth for official credit.
Support on course includes a well stocked aid station offering hot food, snacks, and coffee, participation gifts, and a finisher award for those who complete the full 22 hours. Tents are allowed in designated grass areas near the parking lot and parking is provided adjacent to the start and finish area. Headlamps or running lights are mandatory for anyone on the course during dark hours. Pacers are permitted after dark or once a participant reaches the halfway mark.
