URE Marathon

The URE Marathon, also known as the Uwharrie Marathon, is set to take place on March 8, 2025, at the Wood Run Trailhead in Mt. Gilead, NC. This event serves as a kickoff for the 2025 training runs for the Uwharrie 100, offering participants a challenging race on single and double track trails.

A USATF-certified country-road event in Ellerbe, NC, featuring a 13.1-mile loop (marathon equals two loops), on-course aid stations, RFID timing, pottery finisher awards, and a long local history dating to 1992.

A trail ultra at Morrow Mountain State Park on March 7, 2026, featuring 50 mile, 25 mile and 10 mile options across park trails and four peaks. The 50 mile race has a 15 hour cutoff and allows pacers after one lap.
