Troy, United States • 17 Oct 2026

Overview

The Uwharrie 100 Mile Trail Run takes place on October 17-18, 2026 in the Uwharrie National Forest. The event offers two distances: a 100 mile race and a 100K race.

Course

The course is a 20.5 mile figure-eight loop. It consists of technical trails with roots and rocks, under a forest canopy. Runners in the 100 mile event complete the loop five times. Runners in the 100K event complete the loop three times. The course is highly technical, and there is a 36-hour cutoff for both races.

Participation

There is a registration limit of 150 total runners for both distances combined. For the 100 mile race, entrants must have previously completed a 50 mile event within its time limit. As an exception, completion of the Uwharrie 40 mile Mountain Run or Mount Mitchell Challenge may serve as qualification. No runner under 16 years of age on the event date is allowed to participate.

Runners must register by September 15 to be guaranteed their chosen shirt size. A 50% refund is available for withdrawal requests until May 1, 2026. No full refunds or bib transfers are offered. Deferments may be considered on a case-by-case basis until September 1, 2026, and are allowed only once to the following year. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
